About Finergy Transport Finance Limited

Finergy Transport Finance Limited is a retail Non-Banking Finance Company registered with and recognised by the Reserve Bank of India. Incorporated on 26 February 1996, the company focuses on providing affordable financial products to rural customers in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry , specifically targeting underserved and unserved segments that have limited access to formal credit. The company offers vehicle loans, Farm Equipment Loans and SME loans, and services all financial needs of the customer, including loans and insurance, through its branch network across Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. The long-term vision is to expand operations pan-India.

Our Journey

From Trancity Finance Limited to FTFL

Finergy Transport Finance Limited was incorporated on 26 February 1996 and was formerly known as Trancity Finance Limited. In 2023, the company introduced a new professional leadership team with expertise in vehicle finance, banking, and NBFCs. Operations under the renewed strategy began in April 2023 with the inauguration of its first branch at Thirukoviloor. Since then, Finergy has expanded to 30 branches across Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. Today, the company proudly serves more than 10,000 customers with reliable transport finance solutions.

Managing Director

A. Gowthaman has over 25 years of experience in the vehicle finance sector. A graduate of the National Institute of Technology, Trichy, he began his career as a Branch Manager at Shriram Transport Finance Ltd, progressing to head the national commercial vehicle business. As President and Founder Business Head at Indostar Capital, he established a network of over 200 branches across India and managed a business portfolio exceeding Rs. 5,000 Crore.

Mr. Sridhar C IPS

Director

C. Sridhar is a retired Inspector General of Police having served approximately 30 years in the Indian Police Service across various posts in Tamil Nadu. Post-retirement, he has been involved in multiple business ventures including S2 Organic Foods India and AMS Projects.

Ms. Lakshmi T

Director

Lakshmi T has been associated with the organisation since its earlier years as Trancity Finance and continues to contribute to Finergy. She is involved in social initiatives including affordable education through a school in Namakkal, and runs a tennis academy and multiple sports centres.

A seasoned financial services professional with more than 20 years of industry experience. He specializes in collections, recovery management, and business strategy, providing strong leadership and operational direction to support sustainable growth.

With over two decades of experience in vehicle finance and business development, he has held several leadership positions in reputed NBFCs. His expertise lies in sales management, product development, and operational execution.

Mr. Thangaraju V

Independent Director

V. Thangaraju has over three decades of experience in banking and financial services. He began as a Branch Manager at Corporation Bank and rose to General Manager, Recovery and Priority, overseeing recovery operations across 2,500 branches. He has also served as Advisor and State Head at NCS Finance Pvt. Ltd., managing NBFC products including microfinance, jewel loans, and insurance.

Mr. Rajan Babu

Independent Director

Rajan Babu has over 35 years of experience in banking operations, microfinance, and rural development. He served as National Mission Manager for the Financial Inclusion Team under the National Rural Livelihood Mission. He has authored publications including the SHG Bank Linkage Handbook and the Poverty to Prosperity Handbook, and has worked closely with the Tamil Nadu Government's Rural Development Department and over 500 NGOs.

R. Sridhar is the former Managing Director and CEO of Shriram Transport Finance Company Limited. He has served as Executive Vice Chairman of IndoStar Capital and Senior Advisor to TPG. He has held directorships at Tata Motors Finance Limited and served as Chairman of the Finance Industry Development Council (FIDC), member of the Corporate Bond and Securitisation Advisory Committee of SEBI, and member of the Advisory Group on NBFCs constituted by the Ministry of Finance. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
